We accept cash, debit or credit!
HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
After your consultation, or if you know the artist/tattoo you want, please come by the shop, call in or send us an email with all your info and preferred dates. We will do our best to work with your schedule. A non-refundable deposit is required to book any tattoo appointment. We accept cash, debit, credit, e-transfer or credit card over the phone!
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A TATTOO?
The Ontario minimum legal age is 18 years old. We will not tattoo anyone younger than 16 years old. If you are 16 or 17, your parent or legal guardian (with valid ID) must accompany you during your tattoo appointment. Sorry, of age brothers and sisters/cousins don’t count!
WILL I SEE A DESIGN BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
Our shop policy is no designs will be shown prior to the day of your tattoo appointment due to copyright reasonings. At your appointment, if there is anything about the design you wish to be changed or modified, you and your artist will do so in that moment together! Then you will begin tattooing once you are satisfied with the design.
THIS IS MY FIRST TATTOO WILL IT HURT/HOW DO I PREPARE?
We won’t lie… it’s not going to feel nice. It is a needle after all! However, certain parts of the body have more nerve endings than others, so some spots are more painful, but it is all tolerable. We try to make your first tattoo (and all your future) experiences as seamless as possible. We recommend eating a nice big meal before your appointment. Bring lots of snacks and anything that will help keep you distracted! We provide refreshments if you’re feeling thirsty! We advise not to drink (have a wild night out in the city) the night before your appointment as getting tattooed hungover is no fun for you or your artist. Also, think about clothing. You most likely will be sitting for 2+ hours. Wear comfortable and loose clothing, especially if you are getting your tattoo in a hard to access area. Last and most importantly; hygiene. You and your artist will be getting close and personal during your tattoo process, so make sure you are smelling great and feeling clean!
IF I CHANGE MY MIND, IS MY DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?
No! But while your deposit is non-refundable, you do have options. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require 48 hours notice to avoid penalty. If you are uncertain about your idea at any point, please let us know! We will work with you to make sure your vision is exactly as you pictured it to ensure you have the best experience possible.
HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY NEW TATTOO?
We use a medical grade bandage called Saniderm. It is water-resistant, so you can shower with it on and go about your daily activities like normal. We recommend leaving your Saniderm bandage on for 3-4 days; as soon as you notice your tattoo is dry beneath the bandage it is safe to remove it. Give your new tattoo a good wash with unscented soap but remember to be gentle! Do not use anything abrasive such as a cloth or a loofah, the skin is very sensitive, and you should treat it like a wound. Pat your new tattoo dry with paper towel, or let it air dry. Do not use a towel; this can harbour bacteria and you want to keep your new tattoo free from infection! After a couple days it may begin to feel itchy. DO NOT SCRATCH AT IT! Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare cream or unscented lotion to the area to relieve itchiness and sooth scabbing/dryness.
CAN I GO TO THE GYM/BEACH/VACATION AFTER MY NEW TATTOO?
We like to recommend taking a break from heavy physical activity for at least 72 hours after receiving a new tattoo. This allows your body to begin healing your new wound, have the swelling go down, as well as not have sweat get trapped underneath your Saniderm bandage. During this process, we strongly suggest wearing loose fitted clothing and keeping your new tattoo out of the sun and water. We recommend avoiding swimming pools, beaches, and direct sunshine for at least 2 weeks after your tattoo appointment. This will allow your tattoo to heal optimally and reduce your chance of having issues with the healing process greatly.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY TATTOO IS HEALED?
You will notice your new tattoo is healed when it no longer looks flaky, raised or has a shiny appearance. Your tattoo will slowly become flush with your skin and begin to have a matte appearance.
HOW MUCH WILL MY TATTOO COST?
Our shop minimum starts at $80. This is for twoonie size tattoos or smaller. Depending on the size and style of your tattoo it will generally be priced either as a flat rate, or hourly. Typically, we like to say that any flash pieces or palm sized tattoos and smaller are priced as a flat rate piece. Anything larger than palm sized tattoos such as intricate mandalas, sleeves, and realism pieces are priced by the hour. Our artists start at $160/hour and go upwards to $250.00/hour depending on the artist that is perfect for your piece!
IS IT POSSIBLE TO COVER UP MY OLD TATTOO?
To successfully cover an existing tattoo, the new tattoo must be around 2-3x bigger. Certain subject matter is not always possible to cover certain tattoos; for example, a realistic portrait is not suitable to cover up an existing tattoo, as the face requires several areas of high contrast, which may not be successfully achieved over top of existing ink. Generally speaking the darker the subject matter, the more successful the cover-up. Think roses, skulls, animals (birds, bears, tigers etc.)
I DON’T KNOW WHAT STYLE I WANT. WHAT STYLES ARE AVAILABLE? / I DON’T KNOW WHAT ARTIST I WANT/UNDECIDED.
We have excellent artists on staff with a variety of styles at your disposal, and we can help you to choose which style/artist works best with your ideas and vision. During your one on one consultation, we will listen to your ideas, look through your reference photos, and recommend the best artist suited to your beautiful new piece of artwork.
DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?
Yes, we do! We always have (at least) 1 artist on staff for walk-ins 7 days a week. They are on a first come, first serve basis. You can bring in your own ideas, or we do have some flash books full of awesome designs. If the artist is free and available, you can get it done that same day! If you choose flash from an artist who is not available that day, we would be more than happy to book you an appointment to get that tattoo with its artist another day! If you are feeling spontaneous, we also have a gumball machine that has set priced designs you can take a spin at! All you need is 25₵ to take your turn. Flash prices range from $60-$100! If you are not happy with your first spin, put in another 25₵ and try again! We do not force anyone to get a design they do not want, nor do you lose money (well, except the quarter you donated)
I REALLY WANT TO BECOME A TATTOO ARTIST. HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING AN APPRENTICESHIP?
The tattoo industry takes a lot of hard work and dedication. If you think you’ve got what it takes and want to further your skills/start your career in tattooing, put together a portfolio with all your best work. Once you feel confident in your portfolio, begin looking around at shops that you admire and would like to learn from and request a meeting with shop owners/artist to have a look at your work. Listen to any advice or criticisms they may have as those will help you become the best artist you can be. Good luck and keep drawing!
